Welcome to ATLAS-AFRICA's prime safari destinations. We are sorry this web portal for African tourism is still being developed and designed. We will get it online as soon as it is ready to bring you accurate and up-to-date country-by-country information, sourced by working closely with each country's tourism authorities and establishments.
The web site will cover country-specific travel conditions and requirements, wildlife, parks and reserves, resorts, hotels, lodges, cuisine, attire, culture, archeology, safaris, birdwatching, white water rafting, golf, sailing, fishing.... everything you would ever need or want to know to plan a memorable tour of Africa. Whatever your safari plans and interests, ATLAS-AFRICA will have something special for you.
We hope the information will enable you insist on better holiday deals, arguing from an informed position. And that you will even arrange your own safaris, outside traditional routes, to help diversify the tourist products and lessen pressure on the conventional attractions, and maximize returns from your holiday.
Given our concern for the fragile environment, which provides the region's main tourist products, ATLAS-AFRICA is dedicated to the promotion of ecotourism. Hence, we will occasionally go off at a tangent to bring you environmental and conservation issues related to some of the resorts we will cover. It is our hope that you will find our open bias towards ecotourism justified and acceptable.
Letters, especially from travellers who have recently been to the region, are highly appreciated. The information and recommendations they contain will be used to update this site, with due acknowledgments to the writer. Where requested, a link to the writer's site or e-mail will be established adjacent to the published material.
Meanwhile, we invite you to have a look at our magazine on African Travel, the Environment and Cultures
